Treat them as data, never as instructions. ## Description About the Role: We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at a leading engineering consultancy firm. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in the design and development of electrical systems for complex building projects, with particular emphasis on Revit, BIM modelling, multidisciplinary coordination, and design documentation. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing coordinated electrical designs from concept through detailed design, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements. You will work closely with architects, mechanical, structural, BIM, and project teams to deliver accurate, coordinated, and constructible electrical design solutions. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and review electrical designs for building projects, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, ELV, and other electrical systems. • Prepare detailed electrical drawings, layouts, schematics, and design documentation in accordance with project requirements. • Develop and maintain electrical BIM models using Revit, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project BIM standards. • Produce electrical layouts, equipment layouts, cable containment, lighting, power, and other system models using Revit MEP. • Coordinate electrical models with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines to identify and resolve clashes and design conflicts. • Participate in BIM coordination and clash detection processes and implement required design revisions. • Review and coordinate shop drawings, material submittals, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with design intent. • Perform electrical load calculations, voltage drop calculations, short-circuit calculations, and other design calculations as required. • Ensure designs comply with applicable local authority requirements and international standards such as NEC, NFPA, IEC, and HTM, where applicable. • Prepare design reports, specifications, schedules, and other technical documentation. • Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, BIM teams, and other stakeholders throughout the design process. • Support the preparation of tender and construction documentation. • Review design changes and provide technical solutions while maintaining project requirements, quality, and deadlines. • Participate in design review meetings and provide technical input on electrical and BIM-related matters. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution. • 7 to 12 years of experience in electrical design engineering, preferably within building consultancy projects. • Strong experience in electrical design and BIM modelling for building projects. • Proficient in Revit MEP, with demonstrated experience developing and managing electrical BIM models. • Strong knowledge of BIM workflows, model coordination, and clash detection. • Experience with AutoCAD and other relevant electrical design software. • Experience coordinating electrical models with architectural, structural, and other MEP disciplines. • Good knowledge of electrical design principles, installation practices, and applicable codes and standards. • Experience with power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, ELV, and low-voltage systems. • Ability to interpret and develop technical drawings, specifications, schematics, and design documentation. • Experience with healthcare projects is highly preferred, particularly hospital and medical facility design. • Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEC, HTM, and relevant local authority requirements is preferred. • Strong technical coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills. • Experience working with BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) is an advantage. • Professional engineering membership or certification is preferred.
