Job Summary: Leads the Data & Analytics function by managing the development and operation of data pipelines, storage, integrations, dashboards, and reporting that provide trusted, accessible, and actionable insights for university decision-making. The role coordinates data strategy, service performance, and continuous improvement in alignment with D&T priorities and institutional needs. General Accountabilities Strategy and Planning • Support the development of Data Ai & Innovation business plan by providing inputs related to Data Operations & Analytics. • Manage the development of data strategy covering use cases, infrastructure requirements, and integration mechanisms. • Assist in the implementation of D&T projects and initiatives by executing specific tasks related to Data Operations & Analytics. • Prepare and execute detailed action plans that contribute to the realization of Data Operations & Analytics operational goals in line with the broader strategic objectives of D&T. • Track and report on the progress of tasks within Data Operations & Analytics' remit and communicate to D&T leadership. Budget Management • Participate in Data Operations & Analytics' budgeting cycle and provide input to the budgeting process. • Ensure effective utilization of Data Operations & Analytics' budget and report accurately on progress made and challenges encountered. Policies, Processes, and Procedures • Provide input in development and review of D&T policies, processes, guidelines and procedures related to Data Operations & Analytics. • Carry out implementation of policies, procedures and controls to ensure efficiency, transparency and accountability across all business areas related to Data Analytics and Operations. • Provide input to DMO on data quality frameworks and governance policies. • Support in periodic review of policies, processes, guidelines and procedures related to Data Analytics & Operations. People Management • Train subordinates on the different job activities to ensure transfer of know-how, when applicable. • Provide clear direction, prioritize tasks, assign and delegate responsibility, and monitor the workflow of subordinates. • Support subordinates or direct reports to execute their duties according to set policies and processes. • Escalate potential issues/grievances from team members to senior management. Project Management • Manage day-to-day project activities and contribute to detailed project plans and schedules • Supervise vendor/partner work and promote adherence to cost, timeline, and quality standards Job Specific Accountabilities Data Strategy and Planning • Develop data strategy covering potential use cases, infrastructure requirements, and integration mechanisms. Data Engineering and Integration • Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL workflows to efficiently ingest, transform, and load data from multiple sources into centralized storage systems. • Manage and optimize data storage solutions, including data warehouses and lakes, ensuring data is organized, secure, and accessible for analysis. • Design, monitor, and maintain data integrations and APIs to enable seamless, real-time data exchange between systems, while tracking performance and resolving issues proactively. Analytics and Reporting • Develop and deliver interactive dashboards, reports, and ad-hoc analytics that provide actionable insights to support decision-making across the university. • Deliver self-service analytics, dashboards, reporting, and data-product management. • Review data to identify trends, exceptions, and opportunities for operational improvement. Data Quality and Service Performance • Coordinate with DMO to ensure data quality frameworks and governance policies are applied consistently across all data operations. • Administer the data catalogue and metadata, onboard datasets, and manage master and reference data and data modelling. • Operate stewardship for critical-data elements, including supporting their classification and administering data platforms, source connections, access controls, audit logging, lineage, and observability. • Monitor data operations performance, service issues, and delivery risks, and coordinate corrective actions with relevant teams. • Facilitate improvements to data processes, controls, and work methods based on user feedback and observed service gaps. • Maintain documentation for recurring processes, controls, and operational dependencies to improve consistency and continuity. Qualifications: Knowledge And Experience • 6+ years of experience in data operations, analytics, data engineering, business intelligence, or information management, including coordination or people leadership experience • Strong knowledge of data pipelines, ETL workflows, data warehousing or lake environments, dashboards, data quality, governance, and integration practices • Proven abilit ## Requirements 6+ years of experience in data operations, analytics, data engineering, business intelligence, or information management, including coordination or people leadership experience.
