WORK PURPOSE
The Planning Engineer will support project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring and reporting activities for a major energy project in Oman.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare, maintain and monitor project schedules.

• Monitor planned versus actual progress.

• Collect and verify progress information from Contractors and project stakeholders.

• Identify delays, slippages, critical activities and schedule risks.

• Prepare progress reports and planning updates.

• Assist with look-ahead schedules and progress forecasts.

• Track engineering, procurement and construction activities.

• Monitor project milestones and deliverables.

• Coordinate with Project Engineers, Construction Engineers and Contractors.

• Maintain planning and progress tracking systems.

• Monitor procurement activities and potential schedule impacts.

• Prepare progress dashboards and management reports.

• Assist in identifying schedule risks and recovery requirements.

• Review Contractor schedule updates and progress submissions.

• Provide planning information during project meetings.

• Maintain records of schedule changes, delays and recovery actions.

REQUIRED COMPETENCES

• Project planning and scheduling.

• Strong analytical and numerical skills.

• Strong coordination and communication skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification in Planning & Scheduling Management.

• Minimum 5 years of project experience in planning, monitoring and reporting.

• Minimum 3 years of Middle East experience in similar major real estate projects.

• Experience monitoring engineering, procurement and construction activities.

• Experience working with contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.

LOCATION
Oman – primarily Muscat / Mina Al Fahal, with travel to Interior Project locations as required.
