WORK PURPOSE
The MEP QC Inspector will provide site-based quality inspection and surveillance for MEP construction activities, including HVAC, plumbing, drainage and electrical installations.

The role will verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, ITPs, procedures and applicable international codes.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Comply with Company HSE and quality requirements.

• Review Contractor and Vendor Quality Control Plans, ITPs and procedures.

• Monitor MEP construction activities.

• Perform material receipt inspections.

• Review material certificates and test documentation.

• Inspect HVAC systems, ducting, AHUs and associated installations.

• Inspect plumbing and drainage systems.

• Inspect electrical installations, cabling, panels and earthing.

• Verify compliance with approved drawings and specifications.

• Verify applicable international standards and codes.

• Witness pressure testing of piping systems.

• Witness duct leakage testing.

• Witness electrical testing including insulation resistance testing.

• Verify calibration of measuring and testing equipment.

• Inspect equipment receiving and preservation activities.

• Witness inspections in accordance with approved ITPs.

• Identify quality deviations and raise NCRs where required.

• Follow up corrective actions and NCR close-out.

• Support quality audits and surveillance.

• Review Contractor quality records.

• Attend mechanical completion and pre-commissioning walk-downs.

• Participate in function testing and commissioning activities.

• Raise and verify punch-list close-out.

• Liaise with inspection leads, engineers and Contractors.

• Maintain quality inspection records and performance feedback.

REQUIRED COMPETENCES

• MEP quality inspection.

• HVAC inspection.

• Plumbing and drainage inspection.

• Electrical inspection.

• ITP and method statement review.

• Material inspection.

• Testing and commissioning.

• NCR management.

• Technical document review.

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

• Strong communication skills.

• Computer literacy.

• Strong written and spoken English.

QUALIFICATIONS

• HNC, HND, Graduate qualification or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline.

• Minimum 8 years of experience in real estate construction and MEP projects.

• Experience inspecting MEP equipment and systems.

• Experience with HVAC, plumbing and electrical installations.

• Knowledge of applicable international standards and codes.

• Experience with relevant testing and inspection activities.

• Ability to interpret technical requirements in contracts and purchase orders.

Interior Project Locations, Oman.

The successful candidate must be willing to travel and work at various Interior Project locations.
