## Description

WE ARE HIRING: MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE | Engineering Consultancy Office

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to deliver coordinated building-services designs from concept through detailed design, authority submission, and tender documentation.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical designs for HVAC, ventilation, water supply, drainage, and associated building services.

• Prepare cooling-load calculations, ventilation calculations, duct and pipe sizing, equipment selections, and technical schedules.

• Produce design drawings, specifications, reports, and mechanical inputs to bills of quantities.

• Coordinate mechanical systems with architectural, structural, electrical, and fire and life safety disciplines.

• Ensure designs meet project requirements, applicable codes, and relevant authority requirements.

• Prepare authority submission documents and respond to technical comments.

• Participate in design reviews, coordination meetings, and site surveys.

• Review contractor shop drawings, material submittals, and technical queries within the consultancy’s agreed scope.

• Identify practical, energy-efficient design solutions and support value engineering.

• Maintain design quality and meet agreed project deadlines.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• Minimum 5 years of mechanical building-services design experience, preferably within an engineering consultancy.

• UAE consultancy experience and familiarity with Abu Dhabi authority submission procedures are strongly preferred.

• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and building-services coordination.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP.

• Experience using HAP or equivalent cooling-load calculation software.

• Familiarity with applicable ASHRAE standards, plumbing codes, and UAE requirements.

• Ability to prepare and check calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports independently.

• Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
