Position: Senior Backend Engineer (Golang)

Overview

Gateworth Group is currently supporting a technology business in Dubai, that is hiring a Senior Golang Engineer to strengthen its core engineering function. The role focuses on building reliable backend services, improving system performance, and contributing to a platform that is scaling quickly. This suits someone who enjoys ownership, writes clean Go code, and is comfortable working across distributed systems.

The engineer will take responsibility for backend service development, database performance, API design, and overall code quality. You’ll work closely with frontend and product teams to ensure the platform remains fast, stable, and secure as new features are rolled out. You’ll be joining a product‑focused engineering team working on data‑driven systems with real scale. The role offers autonomy, technical depth, and the chance to influence backend architecture as the platform evolves.

Main Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services using Golang

• Implement security best practices across services and data flows

• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs for internal and external components

• Handle testing, debugging, documentation, and production readiness

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver seamless product functionality

• Design and optimise database structures (SQL/NoSQL)
