We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Forensic Accountant | Financial Investigation Analyst to investigate financial irregularities, analyze complex financial information, identify potential fraud, and support financial investigations. This role combines forensic accounting expertise with investigative analysis to uncover unusual transactions, financial discrepancies, control weaknesses, and potential misconduct while providing clear, well-documented findings to management, legal teams, auditors, and other stakeholders.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
• Conduct forensic accounting reviews and financial investigations involving suspected fraud, misconduct, financial irregularities, and disputes.

• Analyze financial statements, accounting records, transaction data, invoices, contracts, and supporting documentation.

• Identify unusual transactions, suspicious activity, financial discrepancies, and potential manipulation of financial information.

• Perform detailed transaction testing, account analysis, reconciliations, and financial tracing.

• Investigate suspected fraud, asset misappropriation, revenue manipulation, expense irregularities, and other financial misconduct.

• Trace funds and financial transactions across accounts, entities, subsidiaries, and business relationships.

• Review financial records to identify patterns, anomalies, relationships, and indicators of potential wrongdoing.

• Perform data analysis using large and complex financial datasets.

• Develop investigative models, analytical procedures, and exception reports to identify unusual financial activity.

• Conduct interviews and gather relevant information from employees, management, customers, vendors, and other parties when required.

• Collect, organize, preserve, and analyze financial evidence in accordance with established procedures.

• Maintain detailed investigation files, working papers, evidence logs, and supporting documentation.

• Prepare clear and objective investigation reports outlining findings, evidence, financial impact, and relevant observations.

• Quantify financial losses, damages, disputed amounts, and potential recoveries.

• Support litigation, arbitration, regulatory investigations, insurance claims, and other financial disputes where applicable.

• Assist legal counsel and external advisors with financial analysis and investigative evidence.

• Review internal controls and identify weaknesses that may contribute to fraud or financial misconduct.

• Recommend improvements to financial controls, processes, policies, and fraud-prevention measures.

• Conduct financial due diligence and background analysis on companies, individuals, vendors, and business partners.

• Review related-party transactions, conflicts of interest, unusual payments, and potentially improper business arrangements.

• Analyze procurement, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense, and revenue transactions for anomalies.

• Perform financial trend analysis and compare actual results against budgets, forecasts, historical data, and expected patterns.

• Use forensic data-analysis techniques to identify hidden relationships, duplicate transactions, unusual payment patterns, and other anomalies.

• Support fraud-risk assessments and financial crime investigations.

• Collaborate with Internal Audit, Compliance, Legal, Risk, Finance, Accounting, and Security teams.

• Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive financial and investigative information.

• Ensure investigative work is conducted objectively, consistently, and in accordance with applicable professional standards and internal procedures.

• Present investigative findings and financial analysis to senior management and relevant stakeholders.

• Support follow-up investigations and remediation activities after financial irregularities are identified.

• Monitor developments in forensic accounting, financial fraud, investigation techniques, and data analytics.

• Contribute to the development of fraud-detection methodologies and continuous improvements in investigative processes.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, Forensic Accounting, or a related field.

• Proven experience in forensic accounting, financial investigations, fraud analysis, internal audit, external audit, or financial crime investigation.

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, financial reporting, and transaction analysis.

• Experience investigating financial discrepancies, fraud indicators, unusual transactions, or suspected financial misconduct.

• Strong understanding of financial controls, audit procedures, and risk-management principles.

• Excellent analytical and investigative skills with strong attention to detail.

• Ability to analyze large volumes of financial and transactional data.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, data analysis, and financial modeling.

• Knowledge of SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or other analytical tools is advantageous.

• Familiarity with forensic accounting software, e-discovery tools, or financial investigation platforms is beneficial.

• Experience performing financial reconciliations, transaction tracing, and account analysis.

• Ability to identify patterns, anomalies, inconsistencies, and relationships within financial data.

• Strong report-writing and documentation skills.

• Ability to prepare clear, structured, evidence-based investigation reports.

• Strong understanding of evidence preservation, investigation documentation, and confidentiality requirements.
