## Description

SELECTED is partnering with a compan in Dubai to hire an experienced Accountant to join its Finance team. We are recruiting at both Accountant and Senior Accountant level, so we welcome applications from accountants with 4+ years of experience, including those already working in a senior capacity.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will manage day-to-day accounting activities and make sure financial transactions are recorded accurately, on time and in line with company policies and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Record and maintain accurate financial transactions in the accounting system

• Review and process supplier invoices, employee expenses and payment requests

• Prepare vendor payments in line with approved schedules and procedures

• Perform bank, supplier, customer and general ledger reconciliations and resolve discrepancies

• Manage accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and other accounting schedules

• Support or lead monthly, quarterly and year-end closing activities

• Help prepare financial statements, management reports and supporting schedules

• Monitor expenses, flag unusual variances and identify cost-saving opportunities

• Support VAT calculations, documentation and filing in line with UAE regulations

• Work with internal teams, vendors, customers, banks and auditors on accounting matters

• Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies and accounting standards

What We Are Looking For

• A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field

• A minimum of 4 years of accounting experience in a similar role (6+ years for the senior position)

• ACCA, CA, CPA or CMA, either completed or in progress, is an advantage

• Strong knowledge of reconciliations, AP, AR, general ledger and month-end close

• Working knowledge of UAE VAT regulations

• Proficiency in Excel and accounting or ERP systems

• Strong attention to detail, sound judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision

• Fluent English; a second language is a plus
