Your impact Jacobs is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer (Architectural) to support the construction supervision of Hyperscale Data Center and Mission-Critical Infrastructure projects across the Middle East. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all architectural works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, client requirements, and applicable codes. The role requires strong experience in quality assurance and quality control processes associated with large-scale data center projects, including data halls, control buildings, administration facilities, utility structures, and mission-critical support infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Quality Assurance & Quality Control • Implement and maintain project quality management systems and procedures for architectural works. • Monitor contractor compliance with Project Quality Plans (PQP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, and approved specifications. • Conduct inspections and audits of architectural works to ensure compliance with contractual and quality requirements. • Review material submittals, mock-ups, technical submissions, shop drawings, and samples for compliance with project specifications. • Identify quality issues and ensure appropriate corrective and preventive actions are implemented. Architectural Construction Quality • Supervise quality inspections for architectural finishes and building envelope systems. • Verify compliance of walls, partitions, ceilings, raised access flooring, roofing systems, waterproofing, insulation, fire-rated assemblies, doors, windows, and façade systems. • Ensure proper installation of clean-room environments and mission-critical support spaces where applicable. • Review installation of firestopping systems and ensure compliance with fire and life safety requirements. • Monitor workmanship standards and ensure construction activities meet client expectations and approved quality standards. Data Center Architectural Systems • Ensure quality compliance for data halls, control rooms, electrical rooms, network rooms, battery rooms, generator buildings, administration buildings, security facilities, and utility structures. • Verify quality of architectural works supporting operational resilience and mission-critical facility requirements. • Monitor interfaces between architectural, structural, MEP, and ICT disciplines to prevent quality defects and coordination issues. • Ensure architectural works support commissioning and operational readiness requirements. Inspections & Documentation • Conduct surveillance inspections, snagging inspections, and final acceptance inspections. • Review NCRs, site observations, quality reports, and corrective action plans. • Monitor punch-list closure and handover documentation. • Support preparation of quality dashboards and project quality reports. Stakeholder Coordination • Coordinate with contractors, architects, engineers, inspectors, commissioning teams, and client representatives. • Participate in progress meetings, technical workshops, and quality review sessions. • Assist the Quality Manager in achieving project quality objectives. Here's what you'll need Qualifications & Experience Requirements • Bachelor's Degree in Architectural Engineering or related discipline. • Professional certifications such as ISO 9001 Internal Auditor/Lead Auditor, CQE, PMP, or equivalent are preferred. • Minimum 8-10years of experience in quality assurance and quality control within construction projects. • Minimum 3-5 years of direct experience on Hyperscale Data Centers, Tier III/Tier IV Data Centers, Mission-Critical Facilities, or High-Tech Industrial Projects. • Proven experience inspecting architectural finishes, building envelope systems, waterproofing, roofing systems, clean-room environments, and fire-rated assemblies. • Experience in construction supervision consultancy environments is preferred. • Strong understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and construction quality procedures.
