## Description

Civil Design Engineer – Substation & Power Projects

📍 Location: Dubai, UAE – HQ Design Hub

👤 Vacancy: 1 Position

We are looking for an experienced Civil Design Engineer to join our Dubai HQ Design Hub, supporting substation and power infrastructure projects across the Middle East and Africa.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform civil design for HV/EHV substation and power infrastructure projects.

• Prepare and review site development, grading, roads, paving, drainage, stormwater systems, underground utilities and general civil layouts.

• Design and review foundations and civil works for transformers, GIS/AIS equipment, control buildings, switchgear buildings, gantries, cable trenches, boundary walls and other substation facilities.

• Prepare design calculations, technical specifications, drawings and BOQ/MTO.

• Coordinate with Primary Electrical, Secondary Electrical, Structural, MEP and other engineering disciplines within the Design Hub.

• Review vendor/subcontractor drawings and technical documents.

• Provide technical design support to project and construction teams across the Middle East and Africa.

• Resolve design/site interface issues and support as-built documentation.

Mandatory Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant civil design experience.

• Hands-on substation civil design experience is mandatory.

• Experience in HV/EHV substations, including equipment foundations, site layouts, roads, drainage, cable trenches and underground utilities.

• Good understanding of civil interfaces with GIS/AIS equipment, transformers and control buildings.

• Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

• Familiar with international engineering/design standards.

• Good English communication and multidisciplinary coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in 132kV / 220kV / 400kV substations.

• Experience in transmission, solar, BESS, power plant or other power EPC projects.

• UAE/GCC project experience.

• Familiarity with TAQA, DEWA, EWEC or other regional utility requirements.

• Experience working in an EPC engineering/design office or centralized design hub is preferred.
