Role Purpose

The Head of Business Development is responsible for building and growing DK’s business in the Middle East by developing strong client relationships, identifying commercial opportunities, and connecting client needs with DK’s products and solutions. The role leads business origination and market development while working closely with Product, Compliance, Risk, and Operations to ensure growth is commercially sound, executable, and aligned with regulatory and governance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Business Growth & Market Development: Develop and execute the business development strategy for ADGM and the wider Middle East, identifying priority markets, client segments, and revenue opportunities.

• Client Origination & Relationship Management: Leverage and expand a strong regional network to acquire new clients, build senior-level relationships, and develop a sustainable pipeline of qualified opportunities.

• Solution-Based Selling: Understand client needs and work with Product and relevant teams to match DK’s capabilities with commercially viable solutions that create value for both the client and DK.

• Commercial Execution: Lead opportunities from prospecting and qualification through proposal, negotiation, onboarding coordination, and commercial closure.

• Strategic Partnerships: Build partnerships with financial institutions, fintechs, digital asset businesses, corporates, and other relevant ecosystem players to expand DK’s market reach and business opportunities.

• Risk & Governance: Ensure business opportunities are commercially sound and aligned with DK’s risk appetite, regulatory requirements, and governance standards, working closely with Compliance, Risk, Legal, and Operations.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Technology, Operations, Compliance, and Risk to develop client solutions, resolve delivery issues, and ensure commitments made to clients are executable.

• Pipeline & Performance Management: Manage the BD pipeline, conversion, revenue performance, and market intelligence, providing management with clear visibility of progress, opportunities, and key business risks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of business development or commercial leadership experience in financial services, fintech, digital assets, banking, or related sectors.

• Strong and established client and business network across the Middle East, with demonstrated ability to originate and develop meaningful commercial relationships.

• Proven sales leadership experience with the ability to understand client problems and match company products and capabilities to practical client solutions.

• Strong understanding of and familiarity with digital assets.

• Strong commercial judgment with the ability to balance growth opportunities with risk, compliance, governance, and regulatory requirements.

• Strong relationship-building, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

• Collaborative, hands-on, and solutions-oriented, with a can-do mindset and strong ownership of results.
