GCN a global executive search and recruiting company is looking for a candidate to fill Sales Director/General manager position to cover North Iraq and Kuwait. Our client is well established multi-national gas company offering international services in 10 countries worldwide.

Role Description

The Commercial Director/General Manager (Iraq & Kuwait) is a full-time, on-site role based in Kuwait, with primary responsibility for leading the commercial and general management activities for operations in Iraq and Kuwait. Day-to-day tasks include developing and executing country-level business plans, overseeing sales and commercial strategies for industrial gases, and managing key customer relationships and contracts. The role involves monitoring market trends, pricing, and competitive activity, as well as driving growth initiatives and profitability improvements. The position also includes leading and mentoring local teams, ensuring alignment with regional and corporate objectives, and maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and company policies. Regular travel to Iraq and Kuwait should be expected to support customers, local teams, and business development activities.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial management and business planning skills, with direct experience in industrial gases markets.

• Proven sales capabilities, including developing sales strategies, managing key accounts, and achieving revenue and margin targets.

• Advanced analytical skills for market assessment, pricing, forecasting, and performance reporting.

• Demonstrated team management experience, including leading cross-functional teams and developing local talent.

• Extensive experience in industrial gases or related industrial sectors in the Middle East, ideally including Iraq and Kuwait.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field; a master’s degree or MBA is an advantage.

• Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with fluency in English; Arabic language skills are an asset.

• Ability to work on-site in Kuwait and travel frequently to Iraq, with a strong focus on safety, ethics, and compliance.

• Proficiency in English and Arabic languages are mandatory
