## Description

Tamayouz, the Academic Excellence Association, invites applications for the position of General Manager, its full-time executive lead.

About the Academic Excellence Association

The Association was established under the gracious guidance of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty's Representative for Humanitarian Affairs and Youth Affairs. It is the premier home for Bahraini minds: an honour society and national platform that connects the Kingdom's academically distinguished youth, promotes a culture of excellence and harnesses their potential in research, innovation and entrepreneurship.

Members of the Association

Membership is open to Bahrainis who graduated from school with an average of 99% or its equivalent, and to students and graduates of the world's top 100 universities. The Association now has more than 300 members.

The Association is now extending its work beyond the network and expanding its global footprint. New programmes will support outstanding Bahraini youth to study at the world's leading universities.

The position

The General Manager is based in Bahrain and reports to the Board of Directors.

Principal responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership of the Association: lead its day-to-day operations, chair the Executive Committee and translate the Board's strategy into annual plans with clear owners, timelines and results

• Oversee the Association's programmes from design to execution, each with defined objectives, measures of success and evaluation

• Grow and activate the membership: recruit and engage members, alumni, mentors and volunteers, and deliver an annual calendar of events, mentoring, workshops and recognition

• Represent the Association with government bodies, universities, schools and the wider education community, and build partnerships with sponsors and foundations in Bahrain and abroad, negotiating and managing the agreements behind them

• Serve the Board and its committees: prepare Board papers, report on progress and risks, structure the committees and carry the Board's decisions through

• Develop the organisation: recruit and lead the team, establish the systems for membership, records, reporting and impact measurement, and oversee communications and brand

• Uphold governance: compliance with Bahrain's regulation of associations and with partner and donor requirements, and rigorous safeguarding and data protection for students

Candidate profile

• A bachelor's degree in education, management, public policy or a related field

• At least five years' experience in youth development, education or the not for profit sector, including leading programmes, teams or an organisation

• A proven record of building partnerships with schools, universities, sponsors or government bodies

• Experience managing budgets, grants or donor funds

• Fluent Arabic and English

• Strong knowledge of Bahrain's youth and education sector and their stakeholders

A master's degree, experience establishing a youth or talent programme, and familiarity with the regulation of associations in Bahrain are highly desirable.

The Association seeks a leader who is both strategic and hands-on, credible with Boards, schools, and young people, of unquestioned integrity, and genuinely interested in creating impact in Bahrain’s youth and education landscape.

Application

Applications should be submitted through LinkedIn by 06/10/2026, with a curriculum vitae. Those who know a suitable candidate are warmly encouraged to share this announcement.
