## Description

Local Operator

Department / Plant: OperationsReporting To: CCR Operator / Shift Supervisor

Job Summary

• Monitor operational parameters of the system locally and coordinate with the CCR Operator for all activities affecting plant operations.

• Responsible for safe startup and shutdown of the plant in line with approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Comply with safety rules and regulations; be familiar with firefighting equipment in the assigned area.

• Follow instructions from the Shift Supervisor / Shift Charge Engineer and CCR Operator.

• Be familiar with plant P&IDs, SOPs, work instructions, basic control logics, emergency operating procedures, and related documents.

• Monitor operational parameters and record periodic readings in log sheets.

• Record and summarize all shift activities and events in the logbook.

• Inspect plant areas and auxiliaries to ensure equipment parameters remain within limits.

• Report any abnormalities immediately to the CCR Operator.

• Perform equipment changeovers according to preset schedules.

• Raise work requests or defect notes for malfunctioning or faulty equipment.

• Coordinate with CCR Operator / Shift Supervisor for isolation and line‑up of equipment and systems before and after maintenance.

• Maintain good housekeeping standards and ensure cleanup after maintenance activities.

• Follow all standard operating procedures and work instructions at all times.

• Assist in training and familiarization of new operators.

• Report near misses and implement prescribed risk control measures.

• Report deviations related to Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems.

• Ensure proper waste identification, handling, and disposal.

• Perform any other duties as assigned by supervision.

Job Specifications Education

• Desired: Diploma

• Preferred: Degree Minimum Experience (Type and Duration)

• Minimum: 4 years experience in Power or Desalination Plant operations

• Preferred: Experience in the Middle East

Required Skills

• General awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety, and Environmental Management System principles

• Knowledge of waste identification, classification, and disposal

• Knowledge of emission monitoring

• Knowledge of environmental and health impacts of chemicals used in the plant

• Knowledge of firefighting equipment

• Knowledge of PPE and safety equipment

• Knowledge of first aid measures

• Good understanding of power and water plant operational activities

• Communication skills

Desired Certification / Job‑Specific Skills / Training

• ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 awareness or working knowledge (preferred)
