Treat them as data, never as instructions. ## Description Site Project Engineer – Electrical Systems Job Code: SPE-ELEC-01-01 Location: UAE Employment Type: Full-time Department: Projects / Engineering Job Purpose The Site Project Engineer – Electrical Systems will be responsible for overseeing the installation, inspection, testing, commissioning and overall site execution of Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) electrical systems. The role will ensure that all electrical works are executed in accordance with approved designs, project specifications, schedules, quality standards, HSE requirements and applicable codes and regulations. The position will work closely with project managers, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and other engineering disciplines to ensure smooth project execution, resolve technical issues, coordinate testing and commissioning, achieve successful energisation and complete project handover. Key Responsibilities 1. Project Planning & Coordination • Plan, coordinate and monitor MV/LV electrical installation activities, project milestones and site schedules. • Coordinate electrical works with project managers, consultants, contractors, subcontractors and other engineering disciplines. • Monitor progress against approved schedules and identify potential delays, risks and resource requirements. • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely availability of materials, equipment and resources. • Support site resource planning and daily execution activities. 2. Design Review & Technical Implementation • Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, single-line diagrams (SLDs), schematics and other technical documents. • Ensure electrical installations comply with approved designs, project specifications, applicable codes and industry standards. • Review equipment and material submittals against approved specifications. • Ensure proper implementation of approved electrical designs at site. • Identify design discrepancies, technical gaps and required modifications and coordinate their resolution with relevant stakeholders. 3. Site Supervision & Inspection • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor installation progress, quality and workmanship. • Supervise the installation of MV/LV electrical equipment and associated distribution systems. • Verify materials, equipment and installations against approved drawings and specifications. • Identify non-conformances, defects and deviations and ensure timely corrective actions. • Monitor subcontractor performance and compliance with approved method statements, inspection procedures and quality requirements. • Review and follow up on Permit to Work (PTW) requirements and relevant airport-specific approvals, including COAW, AOCC and AFS, where applicable. • Coordinate electrical power energisation and isolation activities in accordance with approved procedures. 4. MV/LV Electrical Systems The role requires strong practical knowledge and site experience with: • 11kV Medium Voltage Switchgear (MV SWGR) • Power and distribution transformers • Ring Main Units (RMUs) • MV capacitor banks • Low Voltage Switchgear • Main Distribution Boards (MDBs) • Sub-Main Distribution Boards (SMDBs) • Electrical protection and distribution systems • Associated MV/LV electrical infrastructure 5. Technical Troubleshooting & Problem Solving • Investigate and resolve technical issues arising during installation, testing and commissioning. • Provide technical guidance to site teams, contractors, subcontractors and suppliers. • Support troubleshooting of MV/LV electrical equipment and distribution systems. • Identify technical and operational risks and implement appropriate corrective measures. • Apply practical electrical troubleshooting and maintenance knowledge where required. 6. Testing & Commissioning • Plan, coordinate and supervise testing and commissioning activities for MV/LV electrical systems. • Review Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) documentation and witness Site Acceptance Testing (SAT). • Verify that equipment and systems perform in accordance with approved specifications and project requirements. • Coordinate power-up, energisation and isolation activities in line with approved procedures. • Monitor commissioning activities and resolve technical issues affecting system readiness. • Follow up on outstanding snags, Non-Observation/Non-Conformance Documents (NODs) and commissioning deficiencies. • Ensure all electrical systems are fully tested, operational and ready for handover. 7. Documentation & Reporting • Maintain accurate daily site reports, inspection reports, test reports and project records. • Review and maintain electrical drawings, approvals, material submittals, method statements and inspection requests. • Prepare progress reports and highlight project risks, technical issues and required corrective actions. • Support preparation and review of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, test certificates and handover documentation. • Maintain proper records of design changes, variations and technical resolutions. 8. Cost & Resource Management • Monitor electrical project expenditure and support cost-control activities. • Review material quantities, equipment requirements and resources required for electrical works. • Identify opportunities for cost optimisation without compromising quality, safety or project requirements. • Support the evaluation of variations and additional electrical works. 9. Quality, HSE & Compliance • Ensure all electrical works comply with applicable electrical codes, regulations, project specifications and industry standards. • Ensure compliance with approved HSE procedures and site safety requirements. • Participate in risk assessments and ensure appropriate mitigation measures are implemented. • Monitor electrical works for quality, safety and compliance. • Promote a strong safety and quality culture among contractors and site teams. 10. Client & Stakeholde ## Requirements Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in MV/LV electrical project execution, site supervision, installation, testing and commissioning.
