You will be responsible for maintaining the reliability, certification, and cyber readiness of ECDIS, GMDSS, DP/USV control, and related electronic systems, while leading troubleshooting, upgrades, and comms compliance. Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain certification and operability of navigation, communication, and automation systems, ensuring zero critical failures and 100% certification currency.

• Diagnose and resolve electronic faults across the fleet, managing spares, firmware, and version control to meet MTTR and compliance targets.

• Plan and lead upgrades and retrofits (e.g., ECDIS, DP/USV control), ensuring cyber readiness and on-time, on-budget project delivery.

• Support USV deployments, including communication links, sensors, control systems, and redundancy, to meet mission success and comms uptime targets.

• Maintain accurate technical records, configurations, and drawings, ensuring 100% accuracy and rapid retrieval.

• Interface with Projects to define electronic scope and readiness, ensuring first-time-right project acceptance.

• Manage relationships with electronics service partners, integrators, and OEMs, including SLA and warranty coordination.

• Supervise riding electricians and contractors, ensuring work is completed safely and to required quality standards.

• Coordinate with Class Societies and Flag State authorities on system approvals and surveys.

• Recommend vendor selection, technology roadmap direction, and inventory levels to support fleet electronic reliability.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree (B.Eng.) in Electronics, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

• 7–10 years of experience in marine electronics (GMDSS/ECDIS/radar/automation), with prior superintendent-level exposure.

• Strong technical knowledge of navigation, communication, and automation systems, including configuration/version control and diagnostics.

• Experience with DP systems and/or DP/USV control systems is highly advantageous.

• Familiarity with Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS)/CMMS, firmware, and configuration management.

• Strong analytical skills, documentation rigor, and vendor management capability.

• Working knowledge of IMO (SOLAS/MARPOL/ISM/ISPS), Flag State & Class rules, and STCW requirements; IMCA familiarity is a plus for offshore operations.
