## Description

Job Description

The Manager - Product Management is the pivotal link between market opportunity, technical strategy and disciplined delivery for Space42’s Geospatial Solutions portfolio. Reporting to the Vice President – Geospatial Solutions, the role provides rigorous technical and delivery leadership from the earliest qualification of an opportunity through proposal development, award mobilisation and requirements definition.

This individual will assess RFPs and strategic opportunities, develop evidence-based go / no-go recommendations, orchestrate high-quality technical proposals, and help translate winning commitments and user needs into clear product and delivery requirements. The role does not replace Product, Engineering, Commercial, Bid or Project Management ownership; it creates the cross-functional clarity, challenge and operating discipline required to make strong commitments and deliver them successfully.

Responsibilities

• Opportunity Qualification and Go / No-Go Governance

• Lead the structured technical assessment of RFPs, RFIs and strategic opportunities across geospatial, Earth observation, AI, data platforms and associated services.

• Evaluate strategic fit, customer problem clarity, solution feasibility, differentiation, delivery model, resource capacity, schedule realism, dependencies, partner needs, compliance exposure and technical risk.

• Coordinate inputs from Product, Engineering, Data Science, Operations, Commercial, Legal, Finance, Procurement and subject-matter experts to create a single, fact-based opportunity view.

• Produce concise go / no-go recommendations for leadership, including decision rationale, assumptions, critical gaps, conditions to proceed and mitigation actions.

• Maintain decision traceability and ensure unresolved risks, exclusions and dependencies are visible before bid commitment.

• Technical Proposal Leadership

• Own the end-to-end technical proposal workstream, from solution framing and content plan through reviews, compliance checks and final submission readiness.

• Translate customer needs into a coherent solution narrative, architecture, scope, technical approach, work packages, deliverables, milestones, acceptance logic and measurable outcomes.

• Mobilise and coordinate proposal contributors; assign clear content ownership, deadlines and review gates while resolving cross-functional gaps and inconsistencies.

• Ensure technical commitments are credible, differentiated, cost-aware and aligned with delivery capacity, product roadmaps, security requirements and commercial assumptions.

• Drive executive-quality writing, visual storytelling and technical consistency across the proposal, presentations, clarifications and oral defences.

• Maintain the bid assumptions, dependencies, exclusions, risks and compliance matrix, with clear linkage to the proposed solution and costing basis.

• Post-Award Transition and Requirements Definition

• Lead the structured handover from bid to delivery so that contractual commitments, assumptions, scope boundaries, risks and customer expectations are understood by accountable teams.

• Facilitate discovery workshops with users, customers, Product and Engineering to clarify problems, user journeys, operational constraints, data needs and success measures.

• Work with Product Management to convert validated user requirements into clear PRDs, epics, use cases, acceptance criteria and prioritised requirements, while preserving traceability to contract and proposal commitments.

• Identify requirement ambiguity, scope gaps and change impacts early; recommend resolution paths before they affect architecture, cost, schedule or customer trust.

• Support initial delivery planning, dependency mapping, governance setup and mobilisation until ownership is fully embedded within the delivery organisation.

• Technical Program Governance and Continuous Improvement

• Establish practical stage gates, templates and quality standards for opportunity assessment, technical proposals and bid-to-delivery handover.

• Maintain an integrated view of decisions, technical risks, dependencies, commitments and actions across active pursuits and newly awarded programmes.

• Provide concise, decision-oriented reporting to the Vice President – Geospatial Solutions and relevant governance forums, escalating issues with options and recommendations.

• Capture lessons learned, reusable solution assets, reference architectures, benchmarks and proposal content to improve speed, quality and win readiness.

• Promote a culture of constructive challenge, accountability, evidence-based decisions and disciplined execution across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Accountabilities / Measures Of Success

• Quality and timeliness of go / no-go recommendations and leadership decisions.

• Technical proposal quality, compliance, coherence, differentiation and submission readiness.

• Credibility of delivery commitments, with explicit assumptions, dependencies and risks.

• Effectiveness of bid-to-delivery transition and requirements traceability.

• Early identification and resolution of scope, feasibility, resource and delivery risks.

• Stakeholder confidence, cross-functional alignment and reuse of institutional knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Geospatial Science, Remote Sensing, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science or a related technical discipline; a Master’s degree is preferred.

• Minimum 10 years of experience across technical programme management, solution architecture, product delivery, systems engineering, bid management or complex technology consulting.

• Demonstrated experience leading technical responses to complex RFPs and developing proposals for government, enterprise or mission-critical customers.

• Proven ability to assess solution feasibility, delivery risk, resourcing, dependencies and technical-commercial trade-offs.
