About the role Position Title: Consultant - Geophysicist (Exploration and Production) Work Location: Kuwait Department: On-sync Energy Management Services Company. Job Responsibilities • Provide technical guidance and supervision to geophysicists and oversee assigned geophysical projects and activities. • Advise geophysicists on technical assignments and exploration projects, ensuring appropriate methods, procedures, and work priorities are followed. • Lead exploration and appraisal studies using modern geophysical methods and recommend suitable locations for exploration and appraisal wells. • Plan and supervise detailed geophysical studies and apply appropriate analytical techniques and digital geophysical technologies. • Independently use industry-standard geophysical software and provide technical support and guidance to team members in its application. • Review and evaluate geophysical studies, reports, interpretations, and deliverables to ensure technical accuracy and completeness. • Provide geophysical input to geological and geostatistical models for play and prospect assessment. • Generate and interpret geophysical data for basin analysis, including seismic sections, structural and stratigraphic maps, and integrated subsurface interpretations. • Integrate geological and geophysical data to evaluate basin evolution, paleostructural development, paleogeography, depositional environments, facies distribution, and tectonic history. • Work closely with geologists and other subsurface specialists to develop integrated geological and geophysical interpretations. • Support regional stratigraphic framework development, identification of subtle traps, exploration plays, and new drillable prospects. • Develop short- and long-term exploration strategies, conduct feasibility studies, and support exploration planning, budgeting, scheduling, and prioritization. • Evaluate the hydrocarbon potential of prospects and underdeveloped reservoirs and provide recommendations for exploration and appraisal activities. • Prepare specialized geophysical reports, maintain technical records, and ensure timely completion of required documentation. • Lead multidisciplinary teams comprising geologists, geophysicists, geochemists, petroleum engineers, and reservoir engineers. • Provide technical mentoring and knowledge transfer to geophysical personnel and support continuous improvement of exploration workflows. • Ensure the accuracy and quality of geophysical data, reports, analyses, and technical deliverables. Qualification Requirements • Master’s degree in Geophysics, Geology, Exploration Geology, Geoscience, or a related discipline. • Minimum 20 years of professional Exploration & Production (E&P) Geophysics experience. • Extensive experience in exploration geophysics, including seismic acquisition, seismic processing, interpretation, and seismic reservoir characterization. • Strong experience in exploration and appraisal studies, prospect evaluation, basin analysis, and seismic interpretation. • Proven ability to integrate geological and geophysical data for regional subsurface interpretation, prospect generation, and exploration risk assessment. • Strong proficiency in industry-standard geophysical software and applications. • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams comprising geologists, geophysicists, geochemists, petroleum engineers, and reservoir engineers. • International experience with major or independent E&P companies is preferred. • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and decision-making skills. • Ability to manage multiple technical projects and provide expert guidance on complex exploration challenges. • Experience with Triassic and Paleozoic formations is an advantage. • Strong technical knowledge of geophysical acquisition, processing, seismic interpretation, and quantitative/seismic reservoir characterization.
