About the role Position Title: Consultant - Petroleum Engineer - Well Testing & Completion Work Location: Kuwait Department: On-sync Energy Management Services Company. Job Responsibilities • Provide specialist petroleum engineering advice on well testing, completion, stimulation, workover, and production optimization for conventional and unconventional reservoirs. • Coordinate with multidisciplinary exploration, geoscience, drilling, production, and operations teams on well completion, testing, and production activities. • Plan and recommend completion, well testing, stimulation, surveillance, and data acquisition programs for exploration, appraisal, development, and new discovery wells. • Develop and review completion, testing, stimulation, and workover programs for onshore and offshore operations, including HPHT wells. • Analyze well test and production data and prepare comprehensive well testing, completion, and post-job reports. • Plan and support Long-Term Testing (LTT), early production, production monitoring, water injection, effluent disposal, and artificial lift activities. • Provide technical support for coiled tubing operations, including well cleaning, lifting, fishing, well unloading, cement squeeze, and water/gas shut-off activities. • Plan and supervise rigless well intervention and data acquisition activities, including PLT, TDT, perforation, acid stimulation, hydraulic fracturing, PTA, and slickline operations. • Interpret cased-hole logging data, including Production Logging Tools (PLT), Cement Bond Logs (CBL), corrosion logs, and other well surveillance data. • Apply nodal analysis and multiphase-flow principles to evaluate well performance and optimize production. • Monitor artificial lift wells, troubleshoot production and installation issues, and perform and interpret echometer surveys to determine static and dynamic fluid levels. • Coordinate regularly with drilling rigs, service companies, and specialist contractors to ensure safe and effective execution of well testing and intervention activities. • Evaluate service company performance and review technical deliverables, job reports, and invoices. • Review technical studies and specialist reports and provide recommendations on well testing, completion, stimulation, and production strategies. • Provide technical input to testing programs for oil, condensate, and gas discoveries, including HPHT wells. • Develop recommendations for future well testing, completion, stimulation, workover, and production optimization activities based on technical findings. • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and training to less experienced petroleum engineers. • Prepare technical presentations and reports and communicate recommendations to management and relevant technical stakeholders. Qualification Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related engineering discipline; Master’s degree is preferred. • Minimum 21 years of international Upstream Oil & Gas experience, with extensive experience in well testing, completion, stimulation, and production engineering. • Proven experience with conventional and unconventional reservoirs, including exploration, appraisal, development, and reservoir management activities. • Extensive experience in completion, well testing, stimulation, workover, well intervention, and production optimization programs. • Strong experience with HPHT wells and complex onshore and offshore well operations. • Advanced knowledge of cased-hole logging, including PLT, CBL, corrosion logging, and well surveillance techniques. • Strong knowledge of nodal analysis, multiphase flow, artificial lift, and production optimization. • Proven experience with coiled tubing, slickline, perforation, acid stimulation, hydraulic fracturing, PTA, and other rigless intervention operations. • Experience evaluating service company performance, technical deliverables, and commercial documentation. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, communication, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills. • Proven ability to provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to less experienced engineers. • International experience with major or independent E&P companies and/or research institutions is preferred. • Middle East onshore and offshore experience is an advantage. • Technical or academic publications in recognized industry journals are preferred.
