## Description

About the Role

We are seeking an meticulous and analytical Senior Accountant to join our client’s corporate finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing full-scope accounting operations, managing month-end and year-end financial closures, maintaining balance sheet integrity, and ensuring strict compliance with IFRS standards and local statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting & Closure: Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS.

• General Ledger & Reconciliations: Maintain and audit general ledger accounts, oversee bank reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and fixed asset schedules.

• Tax & Compliance: Prepare and review VAT returns, manage UAE Corporate Tax documentation, and ensure full compliance with regional financial regulations.

• Audit Management: Coordinate with internal and external auditors during annual audits, preparing working papers and ensuring timely audit completion.

• Financial Analysis & Control: Monitor cash flow, assist with budgeting and forecasting, perform variance analysis, and implement robust internal financial controls.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2–3 years as a Senior Accountant within the GCC/UAE.

• Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant discipline. Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CMA, or CA) is highly preferred.

• Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) and expert-level MS Excel skills.

• Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of IFRS standards, UAE VAT, Corporate Tax laws, and regional financial reporting frameworks.

• Soft Skills: High attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
