## Description

Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimation Engineer – Electrical to lead cost estimation and tendering activities for MEP projects (Electrical side). The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical engineering background with proven expertise in estimating LV/MV power distribution, lighting, ELV, and other electrical building services systems for commercial, industrial, residential, or infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical scope of MEP projects, including LV/MV power distribution, lighting & lighting control, cabling/cable trays, earthing & lightning protection, standby power (generators/UPS), and ELV systems (fire alarm, CCTV, access control, BMS, data/voice).

• Study tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs (Bill of Quantities) to understand project scope and estimate requirements.

• Carry out quantity take-offs (QTO) from drawings/models (2D drawings and BIM/Revit models where applicable).

• Obtain and evaluate quotations from vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers for materials and equipment (switchgear, transformers, cables, panels, luminaires, ELV systems, etc.).

• Analyze technical specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements, codes, and standards (IEC, NEC, BS, NFPA 70/72, local authority regulations, etc.).

• Perform load calculations, cable sizing checks, and cost analysis to validate estimate accuracy.

• Conduct value engineering and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or code compliance.

• Coordinate with design, procurement, planning, and project execution teams to gather necessary inputs for estimation.

• Liaise with clients, consultants, and vendors during the pre-bid and clarification stages.

• Prepare comparative cost statements, cash flow projections, and estimation summaries for management review.

• Maintain and update a database of historical costs, vendor rates, and market pricing trends.

• Support the tendering team in preparing technical and commercial proposals, including risk assessment and margin analysis.

• Participate in post-tender negotiations and clarification meetings as required.

• Ensure timely submission of estimates/tenders in line with client deadlines.

• Mentor and guide junior estimation engineers as needed.
