## Description

We are looking to hire a Senior Engineer – Mechanical Systems who will be responsible for providing dedicated mechanical engineering delivery support for a major infrastructure programme in the UAE. The role will focus on technical reviews and approvals, site inspections, contractor coordination, testing and commissioning, and ensuring mechanical works are delivered in line with contractual requirements, approved designs, and project milestones. The position will support the project delivery team through to successful handover and close-out, working within a live operational environment for our client based in Dubai, which is one of the largest companies in the region.

This position is a contract role with an initial duration of 11 Months and is renewable.

Key responsibilities:

Review and coordinate timely approvals of mechanical submittals, shop drawings, material and equipment approvals, technical queries, and other project deliverables

Ensure mechanical technical reviews and approvals are completed in accordance with contractual requirements and project timelines

Coordinate site activities including access requirements, permits-to-work, shutdown planning, stakeholder interfaces, and sequencing within live airport operations

Conduct site inspections to verify mechanical installations against approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements

Identify and manage technical observations, non-conformance reports (NCRs), snags, and corrective actions through to closure

Review HVAC, chilled water systems, mechanical plant retrofit, and commissioning activities

Witness testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities and verify performance evidence and supporting documentation

Support technical sign-offs and ensure testing and commissioning activities comply with project governance and contractual requirements

Review contractor method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs), commissioning plans, as-built drawings, and other technical documentation

Coordinate with contractor delivery teams, permits and access stakeholders, and internal engineering teams

Maintain strong document control and approval workflow discipline to ensure timely reviews, approvals, and submissions

Support project close-out activities including as-built documentation, O&M manuals, training materials, and handover requirements

Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted within agreed project timelines to support successful project handover

Knowledge, skills & experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline

3–5 years of overall engineering experience, with relevant project delivery experience

Proven experience supporting mechanical engineering delivery within live operational environments

Hands-on exposure to HVAC, chilled water systems, mechanical plant retrofit, and commissioning activities

Experience reviewing contractor submittals, method statements, ITPs, commissioning plans, technical drawings, and as-built documentation

Experience with site inspections, quality compliance, NCRs, snagging, and technical close-out

Strong understanding of permits-to-work, site access requirements, shutdown coordination, and stakeholder interfaces

Strong document control and approval workflow discipline, with the ability to manage multiple technical reviews and deadlines

Previous Dubai Airports experience, particularly with HVAC infrastructure and facilities, would be highly advantageous

Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Ability to work effectively with contractors, consultants, operations teams, and internal stakeholders

Proficient in written and verbal English

Comfortable working in live operational areas and supporting frequent site activities, shutdown windows, inspections, and commissioning works
