Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a High Voltage (HV) Electrical Proposal Engineer based in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates. The HV Electrical Proposal Engineer will prepare technical and commercial proposals for high voltage electrical projects, including reviewing tender documents, specifications, drawings, and client requirements. Day-to-day tasks include estimating costs, preparing bills of quantities, coordinating with design, procurement, and construction teams, and obtaining quotations from suppliers and subcontractors. The role involves performing technical evaluations, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations, and optimizing solutions for cost-effectiveness and reliability. The engineer will also support bid clarification meetings, maintain proposal documentation, and collaborate with project and management teams to meet submission deadlines.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong high voltage electrical engineering skills, including knowledge of HV substations, transmission and distribution systems, protection and control, and relevant international and local standards.

• Candidates should possess skills in cost estimation and tendering, such as quantity take-off, pricing, bid preparation, and evaluation of supplier and subcontractor offers.

• Candidates should possess proposal and documentation skills, including technical writing, preparation of method statements, and organization of complete proposal packages.

• Candidates should possess project coordination and planning skills, including cross-functional collaboration, time management, and adherence to deadlines.

• Candidates should possess analytical and problem-solving skills to assess technical options, optimize solutions, and address design or scope clarifications.

• Candidates should possess effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with internal teams, clients, consultants, and vendors in a professional manner.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline; advanced certification in power systems or HV engineering is an advantage.

• Relevant experience in HV electrical works within infrastructure or building projects, preferably in the U.A.E. or GCC region, and familiarity with local authority requirements.

• Proficiency in industry-related software (e.g., MS Office, Excel for estimation, AutoCAD or similar for drawings, and basic power system calculation tools) is beneficial.
