The Opportunity

A major organisation in Abu Dhabi is looking to appoint an experienced IT Procurement Lead to take ownership of a broad and strategically important technology portfolio within its wider procurement function.

This is a senior role for an IT procurement generalist with experience working across a range of technology categories, including software, IT services, application-related spend, resource augmentation and wider technology solutions.

You will act as a commercial partner to senior technology stakeholders, helping shape sourcing strategy, challenge supplier propositions, lead complex negotiations and ensure technology investment delivers strong commercial and operational outcomes.

The role offers broad exposure across the IT landscape rather than focusing on one individual category, making it particularly well suited to someone who has developed a rounded technology procurement background within a large or complex organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead procurement strategy across a broad portfolio of IT and technology spend

• Manage sourcing activity across areas including software, IT services, applications and resource augmentation

• Lead complex commercial negotiations with strategic technology suppliers

• Partner with senior technology stakeholders to understand future requirements and develop appropriate commercial strategies

• Challenge pricing, contractual structures and supplier commercial models to drive stronger value

• Manage key supplier relationships, driving performance, innovation and continuous improvement

• Analyse market trends, supplier economics and cost drivers to identify commercial opportunities

• Support major technology programmes and investment decisions from a procurement and commercial perspective

• Identify and manage commercial, contractual and supplier-related risks

• Work closely with Legal, Finance and other internal functions throughout the sourcing and contracting lifecycle

• Provide clear commercial insight and recommendations to senior leadership

• Lead and develop members of the procurement team

Experience Required:

• Strong background in IT / Technology Procurement, ideally gained within a large or complex organisation

• Broad category exposure across areas such as software, IT services, applications and resource augmentation

• Strong track record developing and executing sourcing and category strategies

• Demonstrable experience leading high-value and complex supplier negotiations

• Good understanding of technology supplier markets, pricing structures and commercial models

• Excellent stakeholder management skills, including experience working with senior technology leaders

• Strong commercial judgement with the confidence to challenge both internal stakeholders and suppliers

• Experience managing strategic supplier relationships and driving measurable value

• Previous people leadership or team management experience

• Typically 9+ years’ relevant procurement or category management experience

• Degree or equivalent professional experience preferred
