## Description

Role Description
An Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, commissioning, maintaining, and improving electrical systems, equipment, and infrastructure. The role focuses on delivering safe, reliable, efficient, and technically compliant electrical solutions across industrial, commercial, infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, and engineering projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing and developing electrical systems, equipment, circuits, control systems, and installations.

• Preparing electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, layouts, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation.

• Reviewing electrical designs to ensure functionality, reliability, safety, efficiency, and compliance with applicable standards.

• Performing electrical load calculations, power-system studies, equipment sizing, and technical assessments.

• Selecting electrical components, cables, switchgear, transformers, protection devices, control equipment, and other electrical systems.

• Conducting inspections, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance verification of electrical systems.

• Diagnosing electrical faults, equipment failures, power-quality issues, control problems, and system performance concerns.

• Developing preventive and corrective maintenance strategies for electrical equipment and infrastructure.

• Coordinating with mechanical, civil, structural, instrumentation, automation, IT, and other engineering disciplines.

• Collaborating with contractors, suppliers, consultants, manufacturers, clients, project managers, and technical teams.

• Reviewing technical drawings, equipment specifications, vendor documentation, material submissions, and engineering reports.

• Supporting installation, commissioning, upgrades, modifications, expansions, and refurbishment projects.

• Monitoring project progress, technical deliverables, quality requirements, schedules, and engineering documentation.

• Ensuring electrical installations comply with relevant safety standards, technical codes, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.

• Conducting electrical safety assessments, risk evaluations, inspections, and technical audits.

• Supporting energy-efficiency initiatives, power optimization, renewable-energy integration, and sustainability projects.

• Monitoring electrical performance, energy consumption, equipment condition, reliability, and operational efficiency.

• Utilizing CAD, electrical-design software, simulation tools, BIM platforms, automation systems, data analytics, and AI-assisted engineering technologies where appropriate.

• Preparing technical reports, calculations, test results, inspection reports, project updates, and engineering recommendations.

• Maintaining accurate engineering records, drawings, specifications, maintenance documentation, and change-control records.

• Investigating electrical incidents, failures, defects, and non-conformities and implementing corrective actions.

• Supporting procurement activities by evaluating technical requirements, supplier proposals, equipment specifications, and quotations.

• Participating in design reviews, technical meetings, site inspections, commissioning activities, and project coordination sessions.

• Identifying opportunities to improve electrical system reliability, safety, efficiency, maintainability, and cost effectiveness.

• Providing technical guidance to technicians, contractors, maintenance teams, and other engineering personnel.

• Keeping up to date with emerging electrical technologies, automation, smart-grid systems, renewable energy, energy storage, and digital engineering solutions.

• Continuously improving electrical engineering processes, technical standards, system performance, safety, reliability, and project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Strong understanding of electrical circuits, power systems, electrical machines, control systems, protection systems, and electrical equipment.

• Knowledge of power distribution, transformers, switchgear, generators, motors, cables, protection devices, and electrical installations.

• Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, specifications, and technical documentation.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, calculation, and problem-solving skills.

• Knowledge of electrical safety standards, engineering codes, regulations, and industry practices.

• Familiarity with AutoCAD, ETAP, MATLAB, Revit, PLC systems, electrical simulation tools, or similar engineering software is advantageous.

• Understanding of industrial automation, instrumentation, control systems, renewable energy, energy management, and smart electrical technologies is beneficial.

• Strong knowledge of testing, commissioning, preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and electrical inspection procedures.

• Familiarity with BIM, digital engineering, IoT monitoring, data analytics, and AI-assisted engineering tools is advantageous.

• Strong project coordination, documentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, technicians, contractors, suppliers, consultants, project managers, and clients.

• Relevant professional engineering registration or certifications are advantageous.

• Strong attention to detail, technical judgment, safety awareness, and quality orientation.

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
