Chartered Accountant – Tax & Compliance (Freshly Qualified)

Location: Dubai

About the Role

We are hiring on behalf of one of our established and growing Tax Advisory companies in the UAE for a Chartered Accountant – Tax & Compliance position.

This role is ideal for a freshly qualified CA / ACCA or equivalent professional who is looking to build practical expertise in UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, FTA compliance, tax advisory and client management.

The successful candidate will initially work under the guidance of the Engagement Manager and will gradually develop into an independent client handler, taking ownership of assigned clients and end-to-end tax compliance deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

Tax & Statutory Compliance

• Prepare monthly and quarterly VAT return workings in accordance with applicable UAE tax laws and regulations.

• Coordinate VAT return filing within statutory deadlines after review and approval by the Manager.

• Perform transaction-level reviews to identify errors, omissions, incorrect tax treatment and Reverse Charge Mechanism (RCM) implications.

• Prepare and maintain detailed reconciliations of sales, purchases and RCM.

• Review trial balances and supporting financial information for tax and compliance purposes.

• Assist in preparing responses to FTA queries, notices and assessments.

• Assist with reconsideration applications, penalty waiver applications and TDRC applications, wherever applicable.

• Update and maintain client registrations and records on the EmaraTax portal within the agreed scope.

• Monitor compliance deadlines and proactively communicate requirements and potential penalty risks to clients.

• Maintain proper working papers, supporting documentation and compliance records.

Client Coordination & Communication

• Act as the day-to-day contact for assigned clients on routine tax and compliance matters.

• Respond to routine client queries within the same working day or the next working day where detailed review is required.

• Collect required financial documents, information and clarifications from clients within agreed timelines.

• Follow up with clients on pending documents, approvals and compliance requirements.

• Communicate deliverable status, pending items and deadlines clearly to clients.

• Identify and escalate significant technical, compliance or client-related matters to the Engagement Manager.

• Build professional and reliable working relationships with assigned clients.

Accounting & Review

• Review accounting records and financial data relevant to VAT and tax compliance.

• Perform reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.

• Analyse financial information to identify unusual transactions, errors or potential tax issues.

• Review supporting documents and assess the appropriate tax treatment.

• Ensure client files and working papers are maintained accurately and systematically.

Internal Coordination

• Coordinate with the Engagement Manager and internal team members on client assignments.

• Ensure assigned deliverables are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.

• Communicate issues or potential delays proactively.

• Assist with tax, accounting, audit and advisory assignments when required.

• Contribute to improving internal processes, templates and compliance workflows.

Requirements

• Freshly qualified CA / ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.

• Articleship experience in taxation, audit, accounting or compliance is preferred.

• Basic conceptual understanding of UAE VAT.

• Strong fundamentals in accounting, taxation and financial reconciliations.

• Ability to analyse financial data and identify errors, discrepancies and anomalies.

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Good client-handling and interpersonal skills.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to manage multiple assignments and statutory deadlines.

• Highly organised, reliable and able to take ownership of assigned work.

• Willingness to learn and develop deeper technical expertise in UAE taxation.

• Ability to use AI tools responsibly to improve efficiency, research and productivity.

Compensation & Career Growth

• Salary: AED 5,000 per month.

• 6-month probation period. Salary revision and further increments thereafter based on performance review.
