The Ideal Candidate will have strong experience in process mechanical systems for airport, aviation, MRO, industrial, refinery, or heavy manufacturing facilities. The candidate should be confident reviewing and coordinating aviation fuel distribution, compressed air, oil systems, process pipework, vendor documentation, P&IDs, calculations, and FAT/SAT requirements. The role requires practical awareness of hazardous area requirements, multidisciplinary coordination, quality procedures, and clear technical reporting in a fast-paced design review and site coordination environment.

Responsibilities:

• Review and coordinate process mechanical design deliverables for aviation, airport support, MRO, industrial, and heavy facility environments.

• Develop, review, and comment on fuel storage and distribution systems, pipework layouts, fuel feed arrangements, bonding and earthing, leak detection, spill containment, and associated process interfaces.

• Review compressed air, dry air, instrument air, receivers, dryers, hose reels, drop distribution, lubrication systems, waste oil systems, nitrogen systems, and hydraulic test rig interfaces.

• Prepare and review calculations, P&IDs, datasheets, design reports, specifications, equipment schedules, BOQs, technical queries, and design review comments.

• Coordinate process mechanical requirements with architectural, structural, electrical, controls, fire protection, utilities, civil, BIM/CAD, procurement, and construction teams.

• Review process equipment vendor submissions, ITPs, FAT/SAT procedures, factory test records, inspection documentation, and site receiving inspection requirements.

• Assess hazardous area classification implications for fuel, paint-adjacent, chemical, and process zones in line with applicable standards.

• Support design workshops, technical meetings, authority coordination, constructability reviews, quality reviews, and close-out of interdisciplinary comments.

• Monitor technical risks, interface issues, material selections, installation constraints, commissioning requirements, and documentation quality through the design and delivery lifecycle.

• Ensure deliverables are aligned with applicable international standards, local authority requirements, project specifications, quality procedures, and ARX technical expectations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

• Minimum 7 to 12 years of relevant experience in process mechanical systems, with at least 4 years on industrial process mechanical, aviation, airport, MRO, refinery, or heavy manufacturing facilities.

• Airport or aviation facilities experience is required, preferably including aircraft maintenance, engine shop, fuel systems, or aviation support infrastructure.

• Strong knowledge of aviation fuel storage and distribution, pipework material selection, bonding and earthing, leak detection, spill containment, and fuel feed arrangements.

• Experience with compressed air, oil, nitrogen, hydraulic test rigs, receivers, dryers, hose reel/drop distribution, lubrication systems, and waste oil systems.

• Good understanding of hazardous area classification and explosion-risk requirements, including IEC 60079 / ATEX principles for fuel or paint-adjacent zones.

• Experience reviewing vendor documents, datasheets, calculations, P&IDs, ITPs, FAT/SAT procedures, inspection records, and commissioning documentation.

• Knowledge of ASME B31.3, API, NFPA 30/407, EI/JIG aviation fuelling guidance, and relevant UAE/Gulf authority requirements is an advantage.

• Ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering, BIM/CAD, procurement, site, vendor, client, and authority stakeholders.
