Role Description The Lecturer in Business Studies will deliver undergraduate and/or postgraduate modules in areas such as management, marketing, finance, and related business disciplines. Daily responsibilities include preparing and delivering lectures, seminars, and tutorials; marking assessments and providing timely constructive feedback to learners; and holding office hours to support student progress. The role involves contributing to curriculum development, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of business practices, participating in academic advising, and engaging in scholarly and professional activities. The lecturer will also attend departmental meetings, support quality assurance processes, and contribute to outreach or collaborative projects with industry partners. This is a full-time, on-site role based at Bath Spa University – RAK Campus in Ras Al Khaimah.

Qualifications

• Relevant academic background, typically a PhD degree in Business, Management, Marketing, Finance, or a closely related field.

• Demonstrated experience in teaching business-related subjects at higher education level or equivalent, with strong classroom and seminar facilitation skills.

• Ability to design curricula and assessments aligned with learning outcomes, and to use varied, inclusive teaching methods.

• Strong skills in academic writing, research, and scholarship, with the ability to integrate current business practices and case studies into teaching.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural, student-focused environment.

• Competence in using learning management systems and digital tools to support teaching, assessment, and student engagement.

• Commitment to ethical practice, inclusivity, and continuous professional development in teaching and subject expertise.

• Experience with academic advising, student mentoring, or supervising projects and dissertations is an advantage.

• Prior industry experience in business or management, and familiarity with regional business contexts, would be beneficial.
