Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Quantity Surveyor role based in Umm al-Quwain, United Arab Emirates. The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for preparing and reviewing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), measuring and valuing works, and supporting tender preparation and evaluation. The role includes monitoring project costs, preparing cost plans and budgets, and producing regular cost reports to support decision-making. Day-to-day activities involve coordinating with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams, verifying contractor claims, and assisting with contract administration and variations. The Quantity Surveyor will also contribute to value engineering, risk assessment, and ensuring that projects are delivered within budget while maintaining quality standards.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in BOQ preparation, quantity take-offs, and measurement of works.

• Candidates should possess cost control and cost management skills to monitor expenditures and support budget adherence.

• Candidates should possess cost planning and cost reporting skills to develop budgets and issue regular financial updates.

• Relevant bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

• Experience in building and MEP projects within general contracting or similar construction environments.

• Proficiency in MS Excel and quantity surveying/estimating software; strong analytical and numerical abilities.

• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with multidisciplinary site and office teams.

• Knowledge of local construction regulations, contracts (e.g., FIDIC), and standard methods of measurement is an advantage.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring alignment with client expectations and company profitability targets.

• Actively contribute to tender procedures and tools to keep them current for the tender group.

• Manage allocated tenders to handover to job win or loss.

• Continuously collaborate Procurement, Engineering, and Management to optimize tender solutions and idea from handover to submission to maximize tender winning prospects.

• Make sure there is good contact between the Sales, Procurement, and Operations functions.

• Maintain accurate and organized records of all financial transactions, contracts, and project-related documentation.

• Ensure risk management of assigned tender as per company procedure.

Requirements:

· 3 to 5+ years of relevant experience preferably from construction industry

· Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is preferred.

· Knowledgeable of the fundamentals of project and bid execution

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Valid driver's license is a plus.
