As part of the site management team, the site engineer sharesresponsibility for security, health and safety,and the organization and supervision of material and human resources. • Act as the main technical adviser on a construction site for subcontractors, Laborers and operatives. • Sets out and surveys the site. • Check plans, drawingsand quantities for accuracy of calculations. • Ensures all materialsused and work performed are as per specifications. • Oversees the selection and requirement of materials. • Manages, monitors and interprets the contract designdocuments. • Liaises with consultants, sub-contractors, supervisors, quantitysurveyors and the general workforce involved in the project. • Liaises with the local authority to ensure compliance with local regulations and by-laws.
