## Description

Position: Civil QC Engineer

Department: Quality Control / Quality Assurance

Location: Sharjah - candidate should be flexible to work to any region in UAE

Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Civil QC Engineer to oversee quality control activities on construction projects, ensuring all civil works comply with project specifications, approved drawings, and applicable codes and standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on QC experience in the same field (e.g., sewerage Plant construction, infrastructure or industrial projects) and a strong understanding of inspection, testing, and documentation procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and implement project quality control plans (QCP), inspection test plans (ITP), and method statements

• Conduct inspections at various construction stages (excavation, formwork, reinforcement, concrete pouring, blockwork, plastering, waterproofing, finishing works, etc.)

• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and relevant codes (ACI, BS, ASTM, or local codes as applicable)

• Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, and consultants to resolve quality-related issues

• Prepare and maintain QC documentation, including inspection requests (IRs), non-conformance reports (NCRs), checklists, and test records

• Witness material testing (concrete cube tests, soil compaction tests, rebar tests, etc.) and review lab reports

• Verify calibration of testing/measuring equipment used on site

• Conduct material inspections and approvals (concrete, steel, aggregates, etc.)

• Liaise with third-party testing agencies and consultants for approvals

• Track and close out NCRs, punch lists, and snag lists

• Ensure proper implementation of ISO 9001 quality management system requirements

• Prepare QC reports (daily/weekly/monthly) for management and client submission

• Provide training/guidance to site QC inspectors and junior engineers

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (mandatory)

• 4–6 years of relevant QC experience in civil construction projects (same field/sector preferred)

• Sound knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and testing procedures

• Familiarity with international codes and standards (ACI, ASTM, BS, IS, or equivalent)

• Experience with QC documentation systems (IRs, NCRs, ITPs, checklists)

• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 QMS requirements

• Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD (basic), and QC-related software/tools

• Excellent communication, coordination, and reporting skills

• Attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality standards

• Valid UAE driving license (Mandatory, for site mobility)

Preferred / Additional Qualifications

• Professional certification (e.g., ICI, ACI, PMP, or equivalent QC certification) is a plus

• Prior experience with [specific project type — e.g., infrastructure, high-rise buildings, roads & bridges] preferred

• Knowledge of local municipality/authority approval processes (e.g., Dubai/Sharjah Municipality, ADM, or equivalent)
