Job Description – Cost Accountant

Department Finance & Accounts

Reporting To Finance Manager / Head of Finance

Job Summary:

The Cost Accountant is responsible for preparing product costs, analysing production expenses, monitoring inventory values, and supporting cost-control activities across the company’s Spices, RTC, Trading, and other business divisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and update product cost sheets.

• Calculate raw material, packaging, labour, production, and overhead costs.

• Review product recipes, bills of materials, and production consumption.

• Analyse actual costs against standard costs.

• Identify material, production, wastage, and purchase price variances.

• Monitor raw materials, packaging materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods inventory.

• Reconcile physical stock with ERP and accounting records.

• Prepare product-wise profitability and gross-margin reports.

• Support management in product pricing and cost-control decisions.

• Coordinate with Production, Procurement, Warehouse, Sales, and Finance teams.

• Review production losses, damages, expiries, and stock adjustments.

• Support monthly closing, budgeting, forecasting, and audit requirements.

• Maintain accurate costing data in the ERP system.

• Recommend measures to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency.

Qualification

• CMA, ACCA, or a similar qualification will be an advantage. Experience

• Minimum 2–4 years of experience in cost accounting.

• Experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, spices, or ready-to-cook products is preferred.

• Experience in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel is required. Required Skills

• Good knowledge of product costing and inventory accounting.

• Strong analytical and numerical skills.

• Good attention to detail.

• Ability to prepare accurate reports within deadlines.

• Good communication and coordination skills.

• Knowledge of manufacturing and warehouse operations.

## Requirements
