Job Description

Mechanical Engineer (Deep Tunnel & Mechanical Systems - Site Execution)

Dubai, UAE

Parsons is seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to support the construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of deep tunnel networks, pumping stations, shafts, and associated mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. The role involves supervising site activities, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, quality standards, safety regulations, and approved engineering practices.

What You'll Be Doing

• Supervise and monitor mechanical and electro-mechanical construction works on site.

• Ensure installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and contract requirements.

• Review shop drawings, material submittals, inspection requests (IRs), and testing procedures.

• Coordinate with contractors, inspectors, surveyors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

• Oversee installation of pumps, valves, pipelines, ventilation systems, dewatering systems, odor control systems, cranes, hoists, and other tunnel-related mechanical equipment.

• Witness inspections, testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.

• Monitor quality of workmanship, prepare site observations, technical reports, NCRs, and corrective action follow-ups.

• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, confined space procedures, and safe construction practices.

• Review and verify as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and handover documentation.

• Support the Resident Engineer and Construction Manager in resolving site technical issues and achieving project milestones.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering.

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in construction supervision and site execution of infrastructure projects.

• Experience working on projects in the UAE, preferably Dubai.

• Experience in deep tunnel, wastewater, pumping station, utility, or underground infrastructure projects.

• Proficiency in reviewing shop drawings, method statements, ITPs, FATs, SATs, and commissioning procedures.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment installation, testing, and commissioning.

• Familiarity with international codes and standards, QA/QC procedures, and construction supervision practices.

• Excellent coordination, reporting, and communication skills.

## Requirements
