## Description

Job Title: Electrical Engineer – Overhead Transmission Lines (OHL or OHTL)

Location: Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates (ON SITE)

Employment Type: Full-Time

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading international engineering consultancy delivering major power transmission infrastructure projects across the Middle East.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong background in Extra High Voltage (EHV) and High Voltage (HV) Overhead Transmission Line (OHL) projects to join a high-profile transmission and distribution team working on utility-scale infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the site supervision of EHV/HV Overhead Transmission Line (OHL) construction projects.

• Ensure works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, and international quality standards.

• Supervise all phases of transmission line construction, including:

• Tower foundation works

• Tower erection

• Conductor stringing

• OPGW installation

• Earthing systems

• Review contractor method statements, technical submittals, and construction schedules.

• Monitor construction progress, quality, safety, and compliance with project requirements.

• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, clients, and utility stakeholders.

• Attend technical, progress, and coordination meetings.

• Review inspection reports, quality documentation, and close out NCRs.

• Support testing, commissioning, energization, and project handover activities.

• Review contractor progress claims, quantities, and variation orders where required.

• Promote and enforce high Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards across the project.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.

• Minimum 12 years of experience in electrical engineering.

• At least 8 years in Resident Engineer or senior site supervision positions.

• Extensive experience in EHV/HV Overhead Transmission Line (OHL) projects.

• Proven experience on 400kV, 220kV and/or 132kV transmission line projects.

• Strong construction supervision experience within engineering consultancy environments.

• Experience working on utility transmission infrastructure projects.

• Previous experience with UAE utility projects is highly desirable.

• Excellent knowledge of transmission line construction methodologies and site management.

• Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

• Fluent English.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with previous experience delivering projects for major transmission utilities in the UAE or GCC will be highly regarded.
