## Description

Role Description The General Accountant will handle day-to-day accounting operations, including recording financial transactions, maintaining ledgers, and ensuring accurate and timely posting of entries. The role includes preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, supporting budgeting processes, and assisting with variance analysis. The General Accountant will manage accounts payable and receivable, perform bank reconciliations, and support audits by preparing documentation and responding to queries. The role also involves ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Abu Dhabi.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in general accounting, including ledger maintenance, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.

• Experience in financial reporting, budgeting support, and variance analysis.

• Knowledge of accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.

• Proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel, including spreadsheets and basic financial modeling.

• Attention to detail, strong numerical aptitude, and ability to analyze and interpret financial data.

• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are an advantage.

• Experience in FMCG or a similar fast-paced industry is preferred, with familiarity with inventory and cost accounting.
