## Description

The Assistant Manager – Project & Construction Audit provides independent assurance over the cost, contractual and site-level controls governing OMNIYAT and Beyond project and construction activities. Reporting to the Project & Construction Audit Manager, the role executes fieldwork across the project lifecycle — testing payment certificates, variations, claims and retentions, verifying quantities with cost consultants, reviewing contractor compliance, and conducting site visits to assess progress, materials, HSE and quality. Through timely, well-evidenced findings and diligent follow-up on corrective actions, the incumbent helps protect project budgets, strengthen contractor accountability and support the disciplined, well-controlled delivery of developments across the portfolio.

Day to Day Tasks:

• Test payment certificates, valuations, variations, claims and retentions submitted by contractors against the terms of the underlying contracts and approved budgets

• Verify quantities and measurements with cost consultants and quantity surveyors on assigned developments to confirm that works claimed have been executed

• Review contractor compliance with contractual obligations, including insurances, performance bonds, guarantees and other security requirements

• Conduct regular site visits to observe progress, materials, workmanship, health, safety and environment (HSE) practices, and overall quality of construction

• Document audit findings clearly, quantifying the cost impact where relevant and proposing practical, actionable recommendations

• Maintain and update the issue tracker, following up with site and project teams on the status of outstanding audit actions

• Coordinate site visit schedules and logistics with project teams, contractors and cost consultants to ensure timely and unobstructed access

• Support the Project & Construction Audit Manager in scoping, planning and prioritizing audit fieldwork across the portfolio of developments

• Assist in preparing clear, well-evidenced audit reports summarizing cost, contract and site-level findings for management

• Conduct interviews and walkthroughs with site and project teams to understand project controls, workflows and approval processes

• Track the resolution of audit findings through to closure and escalate overdue or unresolved items to the Manager

• Review variation orders, change requests and claims for commercial and contractual justification before recommending certification

• Benchmark contractor rates, quantities and productivity against approved budgets, market norms and comparable projects

• Prepare and maintain audit working papers and supporting evidence files sufficient to substantiate audit conclusions

• Keep up to date with relevant contract forms (e.g., FIDIC), industry practices and regulatory requirements affecting project and construction audit

Long Term Projects

• Support expansion of project audit coverage across assigned developments in the portfolio.

• Contribute to refining project & construction audit testing templates and site-visit checklists.

Experience & Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field.

• 4+ years of experience in project/construction audit or quantity surveying or part of experience preferably with Capital Project & Infrastructure (CPI) team of Big 4 or consulting firm

• Testing of payment certificates, variations, claims and retentions

• Quantity verification with cost consultants

• Contractor compliance review: terms, insurances and bonds

• Site visits covering progress, materials, HSE and quality

• Cost-impact findings development and issue tracking
