## Description

JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE:

The Division Head, Design under TMS Engineering Services, is responsible for leading and managing the design department producing professional CAD drawings, where applicable, to facilitate various TMS activities planned anywhere within IMI Yard, ensuring it is maintained in accordance with company policy and complies with government regulation.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Preside over production of CAD drawings to facilitate various TMS operational activities planned anywhere within IMI Yard.
• Manage manpower within Design Division and make sure resources are available for the required activities
• Review and discuss specifications/method statements/engineering requirements for determining safe TMS activities strategy and in turn help producing CAD drawings to facilitate the operation.
• Consult with various divisions within TMS on various operational activities for the yard and fully understand the requirements.
• Consult with IMI Engineering function on TMS operational activities for the yard and fully understand the requirements.
• Coordinate the planning of TMS activities in association with executioners.
• Support the Production & Project people with planning for maximizing utilization of resources.
•Support the People and Culture Department with effective recruitment & selection of personnel.
• Participate in the development and continuous review of operating procedures for various TMS activities.
• Collaborate with HSE to eliminate potential hazards, to provide a safe working environment, for all employees.
• Liaise with and understand the Harbour Services (Pilots, Tugs etc.) planning movements, dry-docking & berthing operations, dry docks gate operations, flooding & de-flooding etc.
• Liaise with and understand the Lifting & Rigging Services throughout the yard and workshops and produce relevant Lifting and Rigging plans as per the instruction from Lifting Engineer.
• Liaise with and understand the Yard Support and Technical Services and produce any related drawings for relevant works to be carried out.

Requirements:
Education:
Degree or Diploma in relevant Engineering area
Experience:
12 years’ of experience for degree holders and 17 years’ experience for diploma holders in leading role and having worked as a designer producing drawings for operation or production within the shipbuilding industry. AutoCAD and computer aptitude with strong leadership & management skills.
Competencies:
Proficient in AutoCAD for producing professional engineering drawings. Understanding of Asset Management and IFS systems, and relevant ISO standards. Knowledge or understanding of SOLAS & IMO regulations, Classification & Flag State Requirements will be an added advantage. Good presentation skills and excellent interpersonal skills. Be Physically active and able to complete a full medical assessment. Demonstrates ability to listen to the views of others and respond in a logical, well thought out manner without the need to resort to authority. Resilient under stress and capable of managing competing priorities.
