## Description

JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE:
The Zone D Crane Superintendent is responsible for leading and overseeing heavy lift crane operations, including large crawler cranes and superlift configurations, ensuring all lifting activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with company policies, industry best practices, and manufacturer guidelines. The role includes the planning and supervision of rigging and de-rigging of large superlift crawler cranes, providing technical oversight and operational leadership to ensure safe execution and optimal performance. The position also ensures effective coordination, resource utilisation, and alignment with project requirements within the designated zone.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Set Up Crane and Rigging
• Read and understand lifting and rigging ops forms, lifting forms, L&R drawings, crane operators manual load charts, and JSA.
• Set up the crane and rigging arrangement accordingly.
Conduct Morning TBT
• Hold morning toolbox talks (TBT) with your teams to discuss daily operations and safety measures.
Create PTW Applications
• Create Permit to Work (PTW) applications through IFS to ensure all necessary permits are in place.
Supervise Crane Operations
• Supervise and occasionally operate the crane to execute lifting operations, ensuring adherence to company lifting procedure and industry best practice.
Lead Crane Assembly and Reconfiguration
• Take the lead in crane assembly and reconfiguration in line with the crane operation manual and load charts.
Control Crane Movements
• Control crane movements with hand signals or radio commands by certified L&R signalers/riggers.
Perform Maintenance and Inspections
• Oversee the care and maintenance of crane equipment, ensuring proper licensing and inspections are kept current.
• Conduct weekly preventive maintenance on the crane and crane equipment/parts.
Report and Record Timekeeping
• Report and record any poor timekeeping by your subordinates to maintain operational efficiency.
Provide Technical Guidance & Training
• Provide technical and practical guidance to your team to ensure safe and effective operations.
Ensure Safety and Compliance
• Stop unsafe lifting activity and report any potential hazards to your line manager and safety team.
• Ensure awareness and knowledge of applicable regulations, national and international

Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Education
• Diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Experience
• For bachelor holders at least 9 - 12, for diploma holders at least 15 - 17 years of experience with min 10 years’ experience of operating building Liebherr crawler cranes.
• Experience working with super lift Liebherr crawler crane and have good knowledge about crane Maintenance. • experience in guiding/mentoring apprentices with operational activities.
