Specialist Piping Engineer

Specialist Piping Engineer – PMC

Abu Dhabi, UAE

We are seeking an experienced Specialist Piping Engineer to support a major upstream Oil & Gas project in Abu Dhabi. The role will be responsible for providing specialist piping engineering support, reviewing EPC contractor deliverables, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, international codes, and ADNOC standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Review and approve P&IDs, piping layouts, plot plans, piping GA drawings, isometrics, 3D models and piping material specifications.

- Provide technical guidance on piping design, materials, routing, equipment interfaces and constructability.

- Review EPC contractor engineering deliverables, technical queries, deviations and design changes.

- Ensure piping systems comply with ADNOC specifications, ASME B31.3, applicable international standards and project requirements.

- Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Civil/Structural, Instrumentation, Electrical and other disciplines to resolve interfaces and design issues.

- Participate in 3D model reviews, HAZOP/HAZID, constructability, operability and maintainability reviews.

- Review piping material selection, pipe classes, valves, fittings, specialty items and related technical documentation.

- Coordinate with the Piping Stress Engineering team on critical and high-pressure piping systems.

- Review MTOs, material requisitions, technical bid evaluations and vendor documentation.

- Monitor EPC contractor progress and ensure timely resolution and closure of engineering comments.

- Provide technical support during FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning stages as required.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

- 15+ years of relevant Oil & Gas piping engineering experience.

- Strong experience in upstream Oil & Gas projects, preferably gas processing, gas treatment, EPF or similar facilities.

- Previous PMC/Owner’s Engineer experience with responsibility for EPC contractor design review is highly desirable.

- Experience with ADNOC projects and standards is preferred.

- Strong knowledge of ASME B31.3, piping materials, pipe classes, piping layout and design practices.

- Experience with sour service / H₂S facilities and associated material requirements is an advantage.

- Proficiency in AVEVA E3D/PDMS, Navisworks or equivalent 3D design/review software.

- Strong multidisciplinary coordination, technical review and contractor management skills.

- Candidates should have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a PMC project environment.
