- He is expected to establish direct contact with Client and whenever necessary with other Bureau Veritas organization.

- Minimum Required Qualifications
- Specialty
NACE / CSWIP / British Gas Painting / Painting inspector Grade II or an approved equivalent.
- Education
Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or HNC
- Training
NACE / CSWIP / British Gas Painting / Painting inspector Grade II or an approved equivalent.
Site Safety Induction
Sea Survival Course for Offshore Sites
Specific Technical Induction for Specific Projects
- Technical knowledge
Strong knowledge of the International Codes & Standards such as ASME, API, ANSI, ASTM and BS.
Experience with Painting/Coating Inspection according to relevant Codes.
Application of Codes and standards, project specifications and procedures.
- Experience
Inspector/Technician : Minimum 5 years experience in similar field
Engineer Surveyor : Minimum 8 years experience in similar field
Senior Engineer Surveyor : Minimum 10 years experience in similar field
- Responsibilities / Authorities / Accountabilities
- Primary Functions
- Review and comment / approve contractor’s Painting, coating & wrapping procedures.
- Carry out inspection of surface profile, chloride contamination test as per applicable standards.
- Monitor weather and equipment condition during Painting, coating operation
- Ensure that paint materials are used from approved paint manufacturers with valid pot life.
- Ensure that the application of coating is carried out as per the technical data-sheet of the manufacturer and approved painting specification.
- Ensure that proper time intervals between intermediate coats for proper chemical and mechanical bonding.
- Witness / checking of Dry Film Thickness and Holiday detection / Pin hole detection’s and Ensure that calibrated testing equipment is used.
- Monitor surface preparation, application of bonding agent, elastomer, wrapping and curing operation (for Neoprene coating) on riser pipes / clamps.
- Witness post curing tests such as hardness, spark test, sound test, adhesion test, visual and dimensional check etc. on riser pipes / clamps.
- Monitor surface preparation, application of CTE coating and post curing tests on pipeline.
- Monitor surface preparation, application of heat shrink sleeves, holiday tests on field joints.
- Monitor surface preparation, wrapping (Servi wrap M 30 B), holiday detection and doping on offshore pipeline.- Technical Expertise

- Strong knowledge of the International Codes & Standards such as ASME, API, ANSI, ASTM and BS.
- Experience with Painting / Coating Inspection according to relevant Codes.
- Application of Codes and standards, project specifications and procedures.
- Within his field of competency, the inspector is expected to conduct the activities stated in Primary functions.
- Fully conversant with relevant inspection techniques and able to select the most appropriate inspection technique.
- Able to verify and approve Non-conformities / corrective actions
- Able to identify required Bureau Veritas interventions, based on a pre-defined Quality Plan and according to specified standards.
- Able to review / appraise inspection procedures- Business Requirements

- Report to Team leader about day-to-day inspection, non-compliance /discrepancy to specification.- Self Management

- Maintains a high degree of expertise through permanent specialized training and knowledge management.
- Ensure that inspection is carried out as per approved drawings / Inspection test plans.
- Meet project development objectives
- Should be Results oriented, Service driven and Problem solving
- Comply with company regulations, procedures and Code of Ethics.- Customer Focus

- Ensure that Inspection is carried out as per Purchase order / approved drawings / Inspection test plans and other applicable Technical specifications.
- Maintain regular job related contact with clients and Liaises with client and/or Project Management Consultant with ease
- Understand client needs and work to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Develop trust and open communication with the client- HSE Requirements

- Comply at all times with all applicable legal requirements, BV Abu Dhabi HSE Policies and procedures, client’s HSE procedures and code of practices.
- Maintain personal work areas tidy and hazard free and report any deviation/fault/hazard immediately to the location manager/line manager/supervisor
- Report immediately any newly identified hazard and participate in devising suitable operational control to eliminate/minimize the pertinent risk.
- Report immediately any HSE incident and cooperate in investigation
- Use appropriate PPE at work area and be aware of:- the risks app

## Requirements

Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Specialty: NACE / CSWIP / British Gas Painting / Painting inspector Grade II or an approved equivalent.
- Education: Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or HNC
- Training: NACE / CSWIP / British Gas Painting / Painting inspector Grade II or an approved equivalent; Site Safety Induction; Sea Survival Course for Offshore Sites; Specific Technical Induction for Specific Projects.
