## Description

Job Purpose / Objective

Carry out casting procedure (cast application, cast removal, splint application, bandage application, slab and others) and coordinate with clinic nursing staff with regards to patient procedure and consumption of saleable items, participates in the patient care for the entire visit.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

- Carry outs procedures related to casting as ordered by the Doctor according to the “request procedure form” received from the clinic.

- Maintain all equipment in the cast room in good working condition. Report to the Charge Nurse/Biomed for any malfunction of the equipment for immediate action.

- Responsible for the cleanliness and orderliness of the cast room.

- Ensure patient safety for all procedures done; providing comfort, correct positioning of patient during procedure.

- Ensure sufficient supply of saleable and disposables needed for the procedures.

- Make necessary requisition through the Charge Nurse of the needed saleable and disposable for all the procedure.

- Complete documentation by filling up the “request procedure form” after the procedure will be done.

- Update consumption of the saleable items in the material stock ledger; updates monthly inventory as a requirement.

- Ensure that all saleable items used during the procedures are charged to the patient accordingly.

- Report to the Doctors any unusual findings relating to the patient.

- Follow HMG policies and procedures, infection control protocols, etc.

- Provide patient and family education.

- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety activities and receive training on quality assessment and improvement.

- Comply with the standards and perform duties necessary to support, achieve and maintain national and international accreditation.

- Participate in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.

- Enriche patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity.

- Perform other applicable task and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities.

Requirements:
Education/ Professional Qualification

Diploma (Plaster / Cast Technician)

Experience

Minimum of two (2) year experience

Professional Licensing / Certification / Training

- Certificate of training as a Plaster/Cast Technician from country of origin or practice.

- BLS certifications or relevant courses
